ABOUT THE ROLE 

  • The post holder will act as a module coordinator. This involves leading a teaching team, carrying out Quality Assurance procedures, and ensuring that teaching materials are up to date.
  • The role also requires the development of teaching materials and creation of both formative and summative assessments.
  • The post holder will also manage other module coordinators to ensure that the appropriate standards are met across the pathway. They will also work closely with University departments to ensure the modules meet the needs of students progressing to their respective university degree programmes, and to maximise progression. 
  • Provide direct line management support for the tutors in their pathway, giving regular feedback on their performance in 1-2-1 meetings.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly as part of a busy team, contribute in meetings, communicate effectively with colleagues, and work to deadlines.

ABOUT YOU  

  • PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant subject is required to teach on the pre-masters programmes.  We would accept a final year PhD student. Relevant postgraduate qualifications can be considered.
  • Experience of teaching in Accounting and Finance or Economics disciplines in UK Higher Education, Further Education or Sixth form, or equivalent teaching experience in a related field.
  • Strong people management skills in helping teachers to reach their potential.
  • Have a strong track record of academic management, leading a team and supervising academic standards to develop curricula, design assessment and marking schemes in accordance with the quality assurance procedures in UK further and/or higher education 
  • Demonstrated experience in project/data management
