Two posts are available, one full-time 35 hours, one part-time 21 hours

As an applicant support assistant you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service to prospective students at each stage of their journey from enquiry to applicant to offer holder. You will need to respond to queries from a range of influencers: parents, carers, guardians. This is an important and highly valued role as the way in which enquiries are managed has a direct impact on the university’s ability to successfully recruit undergraduate and post graduate students. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the processes related to admissions to ensure a fully functional service is offered to applicants throughout the recruitment cycle, which adheres to the University’s agreed Admissions policies and procedures. 
  • Providing exceptional customer service to prospective students throughout the applicant journey. 
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of the university’s offer and its programmes.  
  • Developing a wide knowledge of all parts of the university to efficiently answer enquiries or direct as appropriate.

To be successful In this role you will need to have / be able to:   

  • Develop a good understanding of the university’s admissions processes and procedures is required to effectively manage inbound enquiries.  
  • Develop a good knowledge of our courses, activities and processes across the university including application procedures, accommodation, support services, fees and finance and student life 
  • Represent admissions at events, e.g. Open Days, Visit Days, PG events (this may involve working 4-5 Saturdays per year, including Clearing, for which appropriate time off in lieu will be given).
