Applications are invited for a part time (40%) Glasswashing & Autoclave Technician to work at The Crop Science Centre. The new Crop Science Centre (CSC) is part of the Department of Plant Sciences. The Crop Science Centre which opened in October 2020 benefits from the diverse skills and expertise of the University of Cambridge and NIAB, providing an environment for research excellence in crops, with the drive and expertise for scientific translation to address real-world problems. More than 50 staff and students are located at the Centre.

The job holder will be responsible for the autoclaves and glasswashing service at the Crop Science Centre.

The key responsibilities include the operation and routine maintenance of autoclaves and washing machines, including liaising with suppliers for services and repairs; operation of autoclaves for lab biological waste and collection of biological waste and dirty glassware from collection point in labs.

The job holder will also assist with maintaining general order and safety at CSC.

Willingness to provide assistance when demands are high, and being a team player is essential.

Experience of working within a scientific environment would be desirable.
