Here in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering the Built Environment we are looking to recruit a Course Administrator who will manage a portfolio of partners who are based overseas. Transnational education (TNE) and global reach is a key area of growth for CEBE, we already work with across the world for example in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and China, with significant growth forecast from new and existing partners. This really is an exciting time for the TNE course administration team.

You will work closely with the Director of Faculty Administration, Head of Course Oversight, Heads of Department, Directors of International and Link Tutors to successfully support our partners and students.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to positively contribute to the student and partner experience at Birmingham City University by effectively managing the administration of our overseas provision. Course Administrators are responsible for managing a portfolio of courses and modules (postgraduate and undergraduate) from enrolment to graduation. This role is focused on partnership working and developing exceptional working practices with your overseas partners. You will need to be flexible in your approach and communication will be via TEAMS and written forms with your counterparts who are based overseas. There will also be a requirement to support with quality matters and provide advice on academic regulations.  

The primary responsibilities of this role will be:

- Developing exceptional working practices with your overseas partners.

- Maintaining accurate student records throughout the student lifecycle such as marks entry, student change of circumstances on the SITS student records system.

- Timely enrolment of all students.

- Clerking committees and meetings.

- Providing expert advice and support to partner staff and colleagues across the student lifecycle pertaining to quality assurance, academic regulations, policy and procedures.

- Delivering high quality Examination boards.

- Support Partners and Link Tutors in the effective management of the student lifecycle, ensuring annual academic calendars and delivery schedules are in place and adhered to.

- Provision of data and management information required at a Faculty level.

- Oversight and management of SharePoint for TNE provision.

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) coupled with proven administrative, IT and customer service experience within a complex environment. Experience in a student-facing role in Higher Education is desirable as is experience within an account management environment. You must also be able to successfully work with a wide range of stakeholders and be able to support our partners in understanding the universities processes and policies, influence change and develop others, all of this has to be achieved working at distance from your key stakeholders. Beyond that, your ability to act as a team player, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, to manage your workload and your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be what sets you apart.
