The Counselling Service at the university of Dundee offers a range of short-term counselling to students and staff at the university by professionally qualified and experienced counsellors.

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a part time counsellor within our counselling team, to provide counselling to students and staff at the university. This is a part time fixed term position for 5 years, for two and a half days per week, half day Monday, full days Wednesday and Friday (0.5 FTE.) based on the main campus.

You will carry an individual caseload, contribute to the delivery of wellbeing initiatives and play an active part within the counselling team. The work will involve assessing clients for counselling, deciding whether further sessions would be helpful, managing risk as well as possibly some group/ workshop delivery.

Who we're looking for:

  • You will have a minimum counselling qualification to at least Diploma level
  • You will have BACP Accreditation or be eligible for accreditation
  • Extensive post qualifying experience
  • Experience of working with a brief, time limited model
  • Experience of working in HE/FE
  • You will be highly organised with a flexible attitude to work
  • You will be capable of high degrees of integrity and reliability, including adhering to strict confidentiality requirements.
