The School 

The School of Computing and Engineering is a professional and student focused School with high quality teaching, student experience and research informed teaching at the top of its priority list. The School has strong links with local, national and international partners and employability of graduates is the key to courses that we offer. The School enjoys state-of-the-art equipment and continues to invest heavily in its improvement. Our courses are fully accredited by relevant professional bodies across the board. 

The Role 

The post holder will teach an appropriate mix of undergraduate and postgraduate in Electronics and possibly Electrical Engineering within the School of Computing and Engineering at UWL commensurate with technical knowledge and prior experience.

In addition, will contribute to research, enterprise development and commercial training in appropriate sub-discipline(s) within the Information Technology field and contribute to community engagement activities of the School.  The University is currently offering many fully funded PhD positions (50+ per year) and the post hold will be expected to develop projects for some of these potential and lead their supervision teams.  Additionally, we have a very healthy population of early career academics – whom the university actively supports their teaching and research – the senior role on offer here will need to offer mentorship to these colleagues and ensure the growth of the discipline and the school.

The Person

The candidate should have knowledge of current Electronics and possibly Electrical Engineering, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in higher education. Evidence of teaching experience and an established research track record, or equivalent industrial experience, with appropriate outputs in a discipline relevant to the subject are also required. The appointee will contribute to research, enterprise development and commercial training in appropriate sub-discipline(s) within the Information Technology field, as well as community engagement activities.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field with a demonstrable track record of research within the field and also have significant teaching experience within the Higher Education sector. Although industrial or other relevant forms of experience will be considered.
