The School
The School of Computing and Engineering is a professional and student focused School with high quality teaching, student experience and research informed teaching at the top of its priority list. The School has strong links with local, national and international partners and employability of graduates is the key to courses that we offer. The School enjoys state-of-the-art equipment and continues to invest heavily in its improvement. Our courses are fully accredited by relevant professional bodies across the board.
The Role
The successful individual will teach an appropriate mix of undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the School of Computing and Engineering at UWL commensurate with technical knowledge and prior experience.
The post holder should be able to teach a range of subjects with an emphasis on Robotics, including but not limited to: Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Robotic Motion, and software tools including Robot Operating System (ROS). The post holder should be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in robotics and strategic robotics-related interdisciplinary areas.
In addition, the post holder will contribute to research, enterprise development and commercial training in appropriate sub-discipline(s) within the School.
The Person
The candidate should have knowledge of current practice and ability to teach relevant subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in higher education.
Evidence of teaching experience and an established research track record, or equivalent industrial experience, with appropriate outputs in a discipline relevant to the School are also required.
The appointee will contribute to research, enterprise development and commercial training in appropriate sub-discipline(s) within the School, as well as community and business engagement activities

Should you be successful and do not hold an HEA fellowship you will be asked to complete one within 2 years of appointment as a condition of your continued employment. Depending on eligibility this may take the form of an advanced Level 7 apprenticeship in teaching which means that you will spend 20% of your work in off-the-job study.
