The role

As the Community Director, you will be the primary point of contact for community participants, providing support, guidance, and resources as needed. You will develop and implement strategies to grow and engage the Innovate Cambridge community, fostering a positive and inclusive culture that values diversity.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive the delivery of the Innovate Cambridge Summit, manage the planning and delivery of the Club House, and co-host impactful events, workshops, and networking opportunities. You will also be responsible for leading and managing communication channels, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, and serving as a liaison between the community and the Innovate Cambridge leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow and engage the Innovate Cambridge community.
  • Be the primary point of contact for community participants, providing support, guidance, and resources as needed.
    Foster a positive and inclusive community culture that values diversity.
  • Lead and deliver the Innovate Cambridge Summit in October each year, with support from partner organisations.
  • Manage the planning and delivery of the Club House, including oversight of budget, promotion and marketing of the hub and member engagement activities.
  • Be the face of the Club House, building relationships, collecting and acting on feedback to constantly improve and provide outstanding service.
  • Co-host impactful events, workshops, and networking opportunities with partner organisations for the hub.
  • Maintain the Club House space to ensure a high quality experience for the community.
  • Lead and manage communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and forums, to keep people informed and engaged.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
    Develop and implement a strategy to monitor and analyse community metrics to track engagement and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a liaison between the community and the Innovate Cambridge leadership team, advocating for the needs and interests of the community.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in community leadership and management, preferably within a startup or innovation ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and inspire trust.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Experience organising events and managing online communities, including social media platforms and forums.
  • Knowledge of the Cambridge innovation ecosystem and key stakeholders.
  • A genuine passion for fostering community and supporting the success of others.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Fast-thinking and adept at problem-solving.
