We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who is passionate about promoting the latest neuroscience research, as well as supporting a positive workplace culture through effective communications, to join our thriving department.

This is a senior role in which the post holder will provide strategic and proactive leadership of internal and external communications activity in the Department. The post is responsible for the development and implementation of communications strategies to raise the profile of NDCN research and teaching, its public engagement activities, and strengthening internal information-sharing and employee engagement. More broadly the post holder will work closely with colleagues in other neuroscience-related departments to support the effective communication of Oxford Neuroscience activities and participate in various divisional and central University communications campaigns.

Supported by a Communications Assistant and Events Officer, the Communications Manager will develop engaging written, audio and video content, identifying key audiences for the department’s communications, and raising the department’s profile among these audiences by providing them with relevant, timely and targeted information.

It is essential that you have excellent written and oral communications skills and demonstrated ability to conceive, implement and evaluate successful communication strategies and activities in a large and complex organisation. It is desirable that you have an understanding of neuroscience, video production/editing skills and previous successful managerial/supervisory experience.

The post is part time (0.6 FTE) to include Wednesdays as an anchor day, on a permanent contract.
