Location: Liverpool, ENGLAND
Deadline: 12 Mar 2024

University of Liverpool Libraries wish to appoint a dynamic individual as our Collections Development Manager, to join our Research, Content and Discovery Team.

Part of Libraries, Museums and Galleries (LMG), the University of Liverpool Library encompasses over 1.5 million physical items in the core Library Collections, and operates across two main Campus libraries, a smaller library at the Leahurst Campus, and a large offsite store.  We use the ALMA Library Management System to manage our physical and online collections, and their usage.  It is an exciting time to join the team, as LMG embark up a new round of strategic planning aligned to the University's “Liverpool 2031” strategic Framework.

As the Collections Development Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the Library's Collection Development and Management activities, and lead on the collection and organisation of usage data relating to the use of physical and online collections.  Supported by a Collection Development Librarian and Library Assistants, you will ensure the Library collections are effectively managed, and fit for current and future research and teaching needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated manager who will proactively approach all aspects of continuous improvement across processes and procedures.   As an effective team leader with strong interpersonal skills, you will motivate and develop your team in the delivery of Collection Development and Management.  You will have excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, collate and analyse information and data in various formats to inform and influence evidence-based decision making. You should have a degree or equivalent qualification, or relevant professional experience.

We do welcome applications from individuals with experience outside of the traditional Library sphere, where key skills around effective team leadership, working with data to inform and influence, and delivery of service improvement and large-scale collection works are strong.
