ABOUT THE ROLE

RESEARCH ENGAGEMENT AND INNOVATIONS SERVICES (REIS) provides professional support to Swansea University’s academic community and is focused on expanding income opportunities from UKRI and from collaborative and Knowledge Transfer initiatives.

There are two posts available, one embedded in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the other in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science. These posts are funded by Research Wales Innovation Funding, and will be line managed by the appropriate Hub Manager.

The role provides support and guidance to academics, principal investigators and professional services, in work associated with the preparation, formulation and application for collaborative research project funding and award, as directed by the Hub Manager. The post-holder will utilise the University’s Award Management System (AMS) to support, coordinate and progress proposals and funding applications and support principal investigators, Research Hub teams and senior management in the coordination of these external UKRI collaborative project funding opportunities. The post holder will ensure that the standards are adhered to, ensuring that the highest quality of applications are developed, submitted and projects supported.

The post-holder will work closely with and support other Faculty based colleagues in EIE and Research & Development, including liaising with the Impact & Engagement Team, IP & Commercialisation team, bid writers and Faculty research & Innovation hub teams to maintain an overview of all collaborative project and contracts in his/her portfolio. There is also an expectation that the post holder will be required to work flexibly and support the Research Hubs in times of high workload and demand.
