Co-ordinating Lecturer in Science and Computer Studies - Teaching and Scholarship
The Division of Lifelong Learning invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to organise, manage and develop a high-quality, part-time programme for adult learners in Science and Computer Studies, and to teach on the programme.

The post is part time, 21 hours per week, and open-ended.
Salary: £49,794 - £54,395 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked (Grade 7).

Job Description
Main Function of Post
To organise, manage and develop a high-quality part-time programme for adult learners within Science and Computer Studies, and to teach on the programme.
Teaching:
- To organise a balanced programme of courses in terms of content, variety and timing of courses
- To provide academic leadership and line management for the team of part-time tutors who are the main deliverers of the programme.
- To implement quality assurance mechanisms that are consistent with University policies and procedures.
- To independently contribute to module and curriculum development and teaching on the programme, including developing new Pathways and community learning opportunities.
- To collaborate with colleagues in Lifelong Learning to provide interdisciplinary opportunities for adult learners, including areas related to the environment and sustainability.
- To carry out other forms of scholarship including work associated with examinations (setting and marking paper and providing constructive feedback to students), administration, participation in committee work.
- to coordinate the Pathway to Medical Pharmacology and contribute to all Pathways to a Degree in subjects related to Science (including Healthcare).
- To liaise with other University Schools, partners and providers to develop appropriate opportunities for adult part-time students in terms of course availability, progression routes, as and when appropriate.
- Contribute to scholarship in the area of work through participation in conferences, seminars and other academic and professional forums to disseminate the results of individual scholarship.
- Engage in scholarly activity through journal articles and/or outputs which advance knowledge within the area of work.
- Carry out other forms of scholarship including work associated with examinations (setting and marking paper and providing constructive feedback to students), administration, participation in committee work.
- To contribute to the promotion of Lifelong Learning, particularly identifying marketing needs and opportunities.
- Any other duties not included above, but consistent with the role.
