Applications are sought from Medical graduates who want to enter the academic side of medicine or for those who are waiting to take licensing exams as it provides both useful materials and time for study.

The Clinical Tutor position will be responsible for running practical and small group sessions in the Basic Medical Sciences, Histology and Cell Biology, Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry, Physiology and Neuroscience component of the St George’s University Medical degree at the Keith B Taylor Global Scholars Programme (KBTGSP).  The postholder will be accountable to the Discipline Manager of each subject as well as the Assistant Dean.

Clinical Tutors are expected to hold review sessions with students, so flexibility to fit in with the student timetable is essential. Other duties of the role are to attend and assist in Orientation and Convocation at the beginning of each term and proctoring of examinations where required.

In addition to running practical and small group sessions, Clinical Tutors are expected to study for examinations necessary to further their medical careers e.g. the GMC PLAB examinations and the USMLE; research activity is also encouraged.  Exceptional Clinical Tutors may be selected for a Clinical Faculty track at St George’s University.
