Clinical Research Fellow

Updated: about 5 hours ago
Location: Liverpool, ENGLAND
Deadline: 03 May 2024

This is a Clinical Research Fellowship (3 years fixed term), for a medically or dentally qualified candidate with a declared interest in Head and Neck Pathology, with funding to undertake a PhD.  Candidates will need to present evidence of commitment to clinical training in Head and Neck Pathology in Liverpool, as this is a post focussed on capacity building within the Liverpool Head and Neck Centre. Ideally, candidates should currently have an NTN in Histopathology or Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology or be actively seeking one. We envisage a project in the tumour microenvironment/immune oncology (focus on recurrent/metastatic disease) and/or the clonal development of pre-neoplastic lesions (focus of early detection /prevention).

A PhD project will be offered in one of two areas in which tissue-based analysis expertise can be developed, depending on the interests and skills of the applicant:

1. Defining the clonal evolution of oral potentially malignant disorders OPMDs (Supervisory team: Hunter and Shaw).

2. In-situ multi-omics for defining and refining parameters for response to immune modulation strategies in HNSCC (Supervisory team:  Hunter and Ottensmeier).

Informal enquiries should be sent to Professor Keith Hunter ([email protected]).

The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received
