About the role

The Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Leicester are seeking a Clinical Research Fellow (ST3+) to join them on a fixed term basis to lead the SCALE-ENDO (Study Of Communication And Adaptive Capacity Using In-situ Learning Environments In ENDOscopy) research study.

The SCALE-ENDO study seeks to investigate patient safety issues in gastrointestinal endoscopy settings and explore the role of simulation in exploring and improving safety in these settings.

In addition, to be eligible for appointment to this role, the appointee must also be able to contract directly with the clinical gastroenterology service at Kettering for a further 0.5fte. 

Applicants must be hold full registration & a license to practice with the General Medical Council and be able to work at the level expected from a ST3 trainee in gastroenterology. Applicants do not need to hold a National Training Number, or have previous experience of undertaking endoscopy procedures.


 

Key Responsibilities:

          Lead and manage the SCALE-ENDO research study, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of the chief investigator and the co-investigators.

          Conduct in-depth analysis of patient safety data and develop innovative simulation-based training.

          Engage in clinical duties at the level of ST3 trainees in Gastroenterology.

          Facilitate knowledge transfer between clinical and research settings, to enhance patient safety.
