The above 0.4 FTE post is available from 1st November 2022 on a permanent basis within the Clinical Education Research and Development (CEDAR) team.

About the role

This post is central to developing and enhancing the Children and Young Peoples (CYP) Low intensity training provision within CEDAR at the University of Exeter.  The post will have a specific empahsises on enriching the Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) and Wellbeing Practitioner for Children and Young People (CWP) training experience and for maintaining strong collaborative process with key stakeholders in support of robust clinical practice. The postholder will make a significant contribution to the leadership and management of the EMHP, CWP and related CYP Low Intensity (LI) programmes with a particular emphasis on clinical practice elements. The postholder will be accountable to the relevant external bodies (e.g., BPS, BABCP) for maintaining governance compliance. The post holder will provide oversight and leadership to the CYP LI clinical components of the CYP LI programmes. In collaboration with the Director of Portfolio, Programme Leads and other relevant stakeholders, the postholder will support the strategic leadership on the development of teaching, learning strategies, academic standards, and clinical practice components for the EMHP, CWP practitioner programmes and other related LI practitioner programmes as required.  This post will be responsible for maintaining a robust engagement with the developing literature and evidence base for CYP LI approaches and contributing to relevant clinical, evaluation and research developments.

The successful applicant will be recognised as a clinical leader and possess an in-depth understanding of children and young people’s mental health delivery and training to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.
