Offer Description

Job description

The PET Imaging Centre at St Thomas’ has an opening for two enthusiastic and flexible full time Clinical Fellows. The post would be suitable for a person who has recently finished training or is soon to complete training in Nuclear Medicine or Radiology with a subspecialist interest in Radionuclide Radiology.

The start dates will be around August 2024 and December 2024, but there will be some flexibility with this.

This is a busy clinical post based in the King’s College London & Guy’s and St Thomas’ PET Centre (hereafter known as the ‘PET Centre’) at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals intended to provide day to day medical cover for the service and will involve vetting, supervision and reporting of a range of PET-CT and PET-MR studies to cover oncology, neurology and cardiac applications. The post holder will be actively involved in clinical studies but also some research studies undertaken predominantly within the PET Centre. The post holder will also participate in preparation and presentation of cases for multidisciplinary meetings and PET Educational forums and have an active teaching role.

The Fellow will be expected to take part in clinical activities.  Training will be given during the post to enable the post holder to fulfil these responsibilities, but it is expected that applicants will have sufficient training in Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiology to be able to perform many of these tasks from the outset.

The post holder is expected to hold a MBBS or equivalent and CCT in Nuclear Medicine or Radiology with subspecialty interest in Radionuclide Radiology or equivalent (or within 6 months of attainment at time of application). You should be highly motivated, work well within a multidisciplinary team, and be able to work to clinical and scientific deadlines. In addition you should be able to work without close supervision and plan as well as prioritise your workload.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 12 months (flexible start dates around August to December 2024).

This is a full-time post - 40 hours per week.
