Clinical Assistant Professor in Equine Medicine

Updated: about 2 months ago
Location: Nottingham, SCOTLAND
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 29 Mar 2024

The School of Veterinary Medicine and Science is an established and forward-thinking school at the University of Nottingham. We have recently adopted an innovative dual intake system whereby cohorts of 150 undergraduates begin in September and April each year. We have consistently ranked #1 in the National Student Survey since our first graduating cohort in 2011, and in the most recent REF we ranked 2nd in the UK for research power.

We are now seeking two Clinical Assistant Professors to join our equine team and help to continue to deliver at the same high standard we have become well known for. You will be a key part of our exciting journey, as we continue to push the boundaries and develop a world leading veterinary school.

There is one full-time (36.25 hours) and one part-time (21.75 hours) permanent post available.

The posts will involve delivering undergraduate teaching and assessment, supervision of postgraduate research programmes, and provision of a clinical service. The successful candidates will work at our Sutton Bonington Campus and at a associate practice, providing a clinical service in the equine hospital, and undergraduate teaching across the curriculum. These staff members will play a key role in delivery of an innovative equine curriculum as part of an internationally recognised team of clinical teachers, supporting both undergraduate teaching and learning, and postgraduate education. Experience of delivering equine medicine in an equine hospital setting, and experience of teaching and assessment in higher education are essential for this role. MRCVS qualification is required for this post. Candidates will be expected to hold or be working towards a postgraduate qualification in equine medicine.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to David Rutherford: email [email protected] . Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.

It is a condition of this post that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the 'Disclosure and Barring Service'.
