The Faculty of Engineering and Technology within Liverpool John Moores University is a creative, enterprising and dynamic faculty, dedicated to creating and communicating knowledge and opportunities to ensure that all of our students can excel within their chosen discipline. We offer courses and carry out research, enterprise and knowledge transfer across a diverse field, in areas ranging from computing to engineering, maritime studies, civil engineering, built environment, product design and mathematics.

We are now looking to recruit a talented technician to support our academics and students within the laboratory ensuring equipment and materials are prepared for teaching and research. You will work within a team of technicians and therefore a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, along with effective interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are essential.

Working within the Civil Engineering and Built Environment laboratories it would be advantageous but not essential if you can demonstrate a working knowledge in one or more of the areas below, full training will be given to the successful candidate.

  • Construction materials
  • Fine and coarse aggregates
  • Cement and its preparation
  • Additives

Evidence of complying with Health and Safety standards, particularly in a laboratory environment would be a distinct advantage.
