Location: 

HDR UK Offices, HDR UK, Gibbs Building, 215 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BE. All HDR UK roles are primarily based at the London offices, however we are flexibly working across a number of geographical locations. Travel may be required to HDR UK locations and partner organisations.

HDR UK is the national Institute for data science in health. Our UK team of experts develop and apply cutting-edge data science approaches to clinical, biological, genomic and other multi-dimensional health data to address the most pressing health research challenges facing the public.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with the Programme Director of Talent and Training to put together HDR UK’s Talent and Training Advisory Group (TTAG) structure, encompassing the voices of employers, users and Subject Matter Experts drawn from academia, NHS and Industry and from across the UK
  • Chair the HDR UK quarterly TTAG, providing strategic focus and leadership and ensuring coherence across HDR UK’s training strategy and curriculum and that this is not only aligned to HDR UK’s strategic priorities but also meets the requirements of the health data science workforce across the UK. 

Eligibility

Candidates must:

  • Hold a substantive academic position at a UK University.
  • Have a contract of employment at their University that extends up to 2024 or beyond.
  • Have the written support of their University before applying (an institutional; supporting letter will be required for the application.

Knowledge, Skills, and experience:

  • A strong track record in securing funding for doctoral and other training initiatives
  • Provision of advice/guidance/opinion as a leading national/international authority in health data science
  • An exceptional academic track record in carrying out original/innovative research and actively contributing to the advancement of knowledge in health data science at a national and international level.
  • Established national and international recognition and reputation in his/her field/s of research and academia.
  • An exceptional communicator and policy influencer
  • Have an understanding of issues relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
