Following the successful award of the new GBP 18.8 million Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme from the UK Department for International Development, we are seeking to recruit an excellent Challenge Fund Manager to ensure effective delivery of the Challenge Fund and other externally-focused aspects of the programme. The Challenge Fund comprises a flexible pot of funding that external partners will apply to access. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work on clean cooking challenges in a number of developing countries

The role will manage MECS' external funding programmes, leading the application process and overseeing expenditure and project progress, working closely with the MECS Project Manager and Programme Director. You will work as part of a small team ensuring the success of the MECS programme. The Challenge Fund Manager will be responsible for working with the Research Office internally and liaising with a wide range of external project partners. 

You will have substantial experience in managing finances of large projects and an understanding of the complexities of working with partners from developing countries. Excellent communication skills and collaborative working is necessary for this role.
