The Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management at the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) invites applications for the position ofChair/Distinguished/Full Professor in Integrated Resort and Tourism Management.

FBA is one of the largest faculties in the University and a well-established full-service business faculty with AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS accreditations. It is a distinctive flagship business school in the region, playing a vital role in business and management education with key responsibilities in nurturing the leadership talents for the development of Macao and beyond as its mission states. It bridges academic education with real-world practice and actively engages with industry and professional bodies, strives to be a world-class business faculty, aiming to create a significant impact on the business community and society, thus contributing to the economic and sustainable development of Macao and beyond.

FBA provides education in both traditional and emerging subjects of business and management, ranging from Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, Information Systems and Management, Marketing, General Management, to specialised Integrated Resort and Tourism Management. The Department of Integrated Resort and Tourism Management at FBA is looking for top-quality scholars to join the department as Chair/Distinguished/Full Professor in Integrated Resort and Tourism Management. Faculty members have published in all top journals in Integrated Resort and Tourism Management. The Department provides its faculty members with excellent research support including a start-up research grant, reasonable teaching load, and state-of-the-art facilities. The Department is internationally well ranked by research output. It has an active research seminar series and an established doctoral program that is fast-growing.

Key Qualifications

  • Research Excellence and Scholarship:
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in hospitality and tourism management or relevant fields;
  • A substantial record of high-quality, peer-reviewed publications in leading academic journals, showcasing significant contributions to the field;
  • Evidence of sustained research excellence, including recognition such as prestigious awards, keynote presentations at major conferences, or leadership in major academic societies;
  • Proven ability to secure competitive research funding from reputable sources.
  • International Recognition:
  • Demonstrated influence on the global academic community through international collaborations, publications in top-tier journals, and participation in worldwide scholarly networks;
  • Recognition by international bodies, evidenced by awards, honorary degrees, or significant appointments in global academic institutions or societies.
  • Academic Leadership:
  • Significant experience in leading academic teams, with a proven track record of fostering academic growth and innovation;
  • Experience in mentoring junior faculty and researchers, contributing to their professional development and success;
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students.
  • Research with Social Impact:
  • A demonstrated commitment to research that addresses critical social issues and contributes to societal well-being;
  • Evidence of translating research findings into practical applications, policies, or public engagement initiatives that have a demonstrable social impact;
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaborations that extend the reach and significance of research beyond traditional academic boundaries.
  • Teaching and Supervision:
  • A strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels;
  • Experience in supervising Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers, with a record of guiding them towards successful academic and professional careers.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse academic and non-academic audiences;
  • A history of productive collaborations with researchers from various disciplines and institutions.
  • Contribution to University Service:

  • The selected candidate is expected to assume duty by August 2024.

    Remuneration

    The actual remuneration is commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
