We are now looking for a Catering and Conference Assistant to join our university on a part time, permanent basis working 30 hours per week.

- THE ROLE –

You are required to provide excellent customer service in all areas of catering and conferencing. The position involves serving food and beverages in all catering outlets, preparation of food, simple cooking, portion control and presentation. You will be required to prepare specialty coffees and hot beverages to the specified standard.

- ABOUT YOU -

To be considered as a Catering and Conference Assistant, you will need:

  • Good general level of education
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous experience of interacting with customers in a front facing service environmen
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate effective organizational skill
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual including being unsupervised, as part of a team and in partnership with others.
  • Ability and preparedness to work flexibly in terms of duties, shift patterns, campus locations and in order to respond to business needs at short notice.
  • Good general level of education including good written and numerical skills

The following would be beneficial to your role:

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Allergen awareness
  • Previous experience of working in a busy kitchen/dining environmen
  • Experience of basic cooki
  • Previous experience of working as a till operator.
  • Experience of maintaining standards.
  • Barista trained.
  • Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh – oral and written
