Summary of the role

The posts sit within the Student Cases team which aims to provide an ‘end to end’ service for the management of student cases.

The casework undertaken by the team consists of those cases relating to the following University procedures:

  • academic misconduct
  • student complaints
  • student academic appeals
  • student disciplinaries
  • fitness to study
  • Health, Wellbeing and Support for Study appeals

Main purpose of the job:

  • This role is expected to provide, within a wider team, dedicated support to academic and professional services staff across the range of casework at the College level providing specialist administrative support, and advice and guidance to students and staff in line with University policies and procedures
  • The role will involve the management and consideration of student cases at the College level, matrix working with college Education Business Partners in managing risk in the processing and consideration of cases, and reporting to the Policy Officer (Student Cases) to provide a dedicated casework service
  • Supporting the development and review of the University’s policies, procedures and guidance governing student casework, working with other Professional Services Staff and academic staff across the University to ensure consistency in their application and that they meet the expectations of external regulators
