Student and Campus Life (SCL) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to recruit a talented Café Chef at The Gaming Café. 

The Gaming Café located on the Lisburn Road is a new cutting edge ESports and traditional board games venue in a state of the art development.       

Your role will involve day to day supervision of the kitchen, ordering and preparation of food, menu development and supervision of a small kitchen team.

This is a full-time position on campus.  The position involves working in a shift pattern over 7 days and an 18% shift allowance will be paid.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria: 

  • Either academic and/or vocational qualification ( e.g. GCSE, O’Level, NVQ 2, City & Guilds 706/2 in Hospitality related subject (or equivalent) and relevant previous experience in a commercial catering or café environment OR significant relevant work experience in commercial catering or café environment (Previous supervisory skills required).
  • Basic Food and Hygiene Certificate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant systems, procedures, all quality standards which must be kept including Health and Safety.
