About the Role

The post holder is responsible for enabling the School to meet its operational needs. The Business Support Assistant has specific responsibility for administrative activities relating to recruitment, induction, and co-ordination of staff training requirements. They will be a main point of contact for these activities in the school.

About the Department 

The School of Economics and Finance is a leader in teaching and research at both the national and international level. It has a range of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including programmes that are jointly run with other Schools. The School has over 800 undergraduate students, and over 1000 postgraduate taught students. It offers excellent facilities and resources to enhance learning, including offering training and access to real time trading software to both UG and PGT students.   

The School is located within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences which comprises of nine Schools. 

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a Higher Education setting and experience of Human Resources and staff recruitment. They will have knowledge of legislation / processes relating to the recruitment of staff, including knowledge of ‘right to work’ and visa related requirements.
