Salary:  £32,348 to £43,414 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Business Science Fellowships is an established programme that offers the opportunity to develop experience of working at the interface of academia and business. The role provides an opportunity for suitably qualified individuals to develop further their innovation and entrepreneurial skills while working on a specific set of knowledge exchange and industry related projects. Specifically, this Fellowship will focus on progressing the technical development and commercial exploitation of novel battery technologies and other innovative materials and technologies developed within the School of Chemistry.

The successful applicant will work closely with companies and academics to develop and deliver collaborative research projects, undertake laboratory work, market/business analysis, coordinate the allocation of technical work and ensure all health and safety aspects of laboratory projects are considered.

Candidates must have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in chemistry or related discipline. Some experience of working on industry related projects and of research in the area of novel battery technologies will be an advantage

The post is available from immediately and will be offered as a fixed-term contract to 30th June 2023. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours); Job share arrangements may be considered.
