About Us

International, Engagement & Service (IES) is a new Directorate at King’s that brings together the expertise of teams engaging with communities and partners locally, nationally, and globally. IES provides strategic leadership for the university’s engagement at home and abroad, while providing a home for a portfolio of innovative programmes that generate and measure impact, and serve the communities we work with and for.

About the Role

We wish to appoint a Business Operations Manager to play a leading role in the smooth running of the Directorate’s operations bringing together multiple teams and impact-led programmes and partnerships. If you are an outstanding individual, who loves working with a variety of people, and have a track record in managing large budgets, workload models and team operations, this role is for you.

In this role you will support the Vice-President and Director in achieving IES’ strategic and operational aims, contributing to, and provide support for strategic planning, risk management, system design, process and policy development. You will oversee the delivery of business and operational support (finance, estates, and HR) within IES to ensure its effectiveness and quality, for instance in relation to accuracy, cost, content and data requirements.

This is an opportunity to work in a high performing team, develop relationships with colleagues across the wider university, and among our key partners and communities. Close working, engagement and collaborative working with colleagues across King’s, especially those in HR and Finance, will be key to success in this role.

This is currently offered as a hybrid role and the role holder will be eligible to spend part of their working week on campus and part of the week working remotely.

At King's, our definition of diversity encompasses and goes beyond the characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010 to include everything that makes us unique, from our backgrounds and experiences to our personalities and ways of thinking. IES welcomes applicants from communities underrepresented in the higher education sector and expects all applicants to demonstrate clear commitment to diversity and inclusion.

We encourage applications from candidates who have experience from both within and outside of the Higher Education sector where they can demonstrate the skills needed to succeed in this role.
