Ambitious growth plans have been put in place to increase the number of working students at the university, with significant investment and growth in Workplace Learning (WPL) which forms part of the university’s multi award-winning Business Innovation division. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new role within the team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workplace Learning, The Business Engagement Officer will work with industry and the wider university community through targeted business and stakeholder engagement, and significantly contribute to the growth, delivery and development of recruitment to Graduate Apprenticeship programmes and additional Workplace Learning skills solutions on an annual basis.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • A relevant degree level qualification or equivalent through a combination of HNC/HND and Professional Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ proven sales track record, working within business development and income generation roles
  • Appropriate evidence of income focused and impact-driven industry lifecycle engagement planning, delivery and ROI analysis
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral. A confident and outgoing self-starter, who can communicate a vision that can be shared and delivered by colleagues and industry alike.
  • Commitment to delivering high quality account management and outstanding employer and student experience.
  • Extensive skills in social media platforms, MS 365, Power BI, and experience and competency in the use of large language models e.g. ChatGPT
  • Experience of monitoring, managing and reporting on project budgets and resources.
