This part-time post is based at the Penryn Campus in Cornwall.

Summary of the role

We are searching for a Business Development Manager to work on the Deep Digital Cornwall project. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with outstanding communication skills who can bridge between digital research and innovation, regional SMEs and international opportunities to build the cluster in Cornwall. The successful candidate will research collaborative business models, and travel to international events to report research and make new partnerships.

Deep Digital Cornwall will help Cornwall and IoS SME businesses carry out digital research and development related to the underground environment (mining, geothermal, civil engineering, environmental, surveying, water resources, planning and permitting, heritage, tourism) and its connections to the surface. A large team of academics and specialists from the University of Exeter (Camborne School of Mines and Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence), South West Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications, Cornish Lithium and Cornwall Resources, will help SMEs tackle digital research challenges to expand their businesses.
