An opportunity has become available at University of Cambridge for a Business Analyst with a background in the delivery of digital products and services.
This role is part of University Information Services (UIS). We work collaboratively with colleagues in departments, colleges, and other institutions to provide a range of IT services to support the needs of all users at the University. You will join a growing team of Business Analysts, User Researchers, Product Managers & Designers working to transform products and services used by the University's staff and students.
As a Business Analyst your work will enable the University of Cambridge community to make better, informed decisions for digital services, to facilitate world leading research & education. You will work with stakeholders and other project team roles to understand and document the current situation, to define business and user needs, and to help design and deliver products and services that meet those needs.
This is a permanent role split between University Information Services' modern offices on the West Cambridge Site and working from home. We offer flexibility of working hours together with a generous pension and holiday allowance.
As a Business Analyst you will:
- Work with stakeholders and other members of the project team to understand and document business needs.
- Document complex current state systems and processes, in a way that is easy for non-technical staff to understand.
- Analyse and present options and recommended solutions informed by data.
- Document future state systems and processes, recording and prioritising future state requirements.
- Ensure that the products and services delivered meet the needs of the business.
Are you the right candidate?
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary delivery team to shape and build digital products and services.
- Knowledge of business analysis techniques and methodologies, understanding how best to apply them to different situations.
- Ability to identify critical path work and planning your own activities to deliver.
- Knowledge of databases and/or HR systems advantageous.
