Business Analyst
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Business Analyst to join Corporate Information Systems to help gather, analyse, and map business processes before writing precise requirements that systems analysts can develop effective solutions against. These requirements will make up the high value features that are needed to develop LUSI (Lancaster University Student Information), the sector leading in-house Student Records system used by Lancaster University.
LUSI is undergoing significant redevelopment from a Windows Forms suite of modules to a modern, responsive, dynamic web application and API underpinned by existing SQL Server databases. It interfaces with many other systems and supports key University business processes.
Teams within Corporate Information Systems have a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement and staff development. You will primarily focus on process improvement with regard to the further development of LUSI, working on a variety of web-based and desktop systems, which contribute to our exciting plan to move LUSI wholly online.
You must be confident in dealing with stakeholders, at all levels, within the institution and be able to promote culture change when approaching solutions. Some experience in process modelling and the elicitation of business requirements would be advantageous, as would experience of working within an Agile environment.
You must have enthusiasm and a demonstrated capability for problem solving, developing new competencies, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and work well in a team.
If you would like further information and an opportunity to discuss the role, please contact Byron Ellershaw, Senior Business Analyst, Corporate Information Systems at [email protected] .
