Buildings and Facilities Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated Buildings and Facilities Manager to manage the CBF’s small facilities team at the Jenner Institute.

You will be responsible for supporting the operational management and continued development of the CBF. While accountable to the Head of CBF, you will report to and be line managed by the Senior Buildings and Facilities Manager, maintaining first class facilities, equipment and working environments to enable the building’s occupants to carry out their research activities. You will support specialist technical services provision for the CBF, including maintenance and fumigation in BSL2 laboratories and cleanrooms, as well as line manage the Facilities and Equipment Specialist to deliver office, laboratories and building services. Operating at all times within the CBF’s quality management system to ensure GMP compliance.

It is essential qualified to degree level in a relevant subject, such as Engineering or a Biological Sciences subject with demonstrable experience of Building and Facilities management at manager level and experience of project management in a scientific environment. You will have experience of line managing a team with the ability to recognise and respond to the diverse needs of research groups and deal with competing pressures and stakeholder expectations. Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail will be required.
