Short summary

The Biological Research Facility supports all animal research at the Crick through our comprehensive animal care and use programme. The Biological Research Facility provides the Crick's laboratory animal resource and technical services. High quality multidisciplinary in-vivo and ex-vivo research support is at the heart of the BRF's philosophy and operations. The BRF is committed to improving animal welfare, scientific quality, care of staff and transparency for stakeholders. The BRF teams integrate husbandry of multiple species within a range of facilities, using state of the art technologies, via talented and skilled members of staff.

The post holder will be a key part of the BRF admin team with close links to all BRF teams. They will be expected to work independently with a minimum of supervision, reporting regularly to senior staff.

Key Responsibilities

To provide both clerical and administrative support to BRF staff and BRF users across all levels and functions under minimal supervision, for instance:

  • Managing daily and permanent access to BRF units in accordance with local rules and with understanding of BRF barriers
  • Coordination of BRF meetings and other events, including diary management, rooms bookings, visitor process management, event advertisement, minute taking, etc
  • Assisting new users with onboarding process including information access, form processing, booking training as required
  • Booking travel and accommodation on behalf of the BRF Staff
  • Booking relevant courses for the BRF staff
  • Ordering specialised equipment & supplies for the BRF where required and dealing with financial queries in regards to orders
  • Assisting with office arrangements, including space, storage, stationery
  • Performing administrative duties around Personal and Project Licence records processing and maintenance
  • Assisting with administration of the HO audit readiness and AAALAC preparations as directed
