We are recruiting an English for Academic Purposes Programme Manager (Pathways Programmes) to join the Birmingham International Academy, University of Birmingham.

The Birmingham International Academy (BIA) is a teaching unit within the University of Birmingham that delivers the International Foundation Pathway, Presessional English and Academic English (Insessional) for international students. Formed in 2012, the BIA has seen major growth across all programmes and with a new recruitment agreement in place should see significant growth in its International Foundation Pathway programmes over the next 5 years.

We are seeking an individual to teach and advise International Foundation Pathway students within own subject area (Biological Sciences) and within an established teaching programme, supervised by the academic lead for the Medical Life and Geo Sciences Pathway (MLGS) who has ultimate responsibility for the design, delivery and assessment of the modules taught.

Applicants should have experience teaching in the Biological Sciences such as biology, biochemistry and/or human biology to at least an A level standard. You will be expected to contribute to learning materials and or curriculum development or management (specialist duties may include assessment development, teacher development, VLE development, quality systems and audits).
