The Opportunity:

We are looking for a flexible team player to join the informatics team within the Experimental Cancer Genetics Group run by Dr. David Adams. The post will be primarily involved in the analysis, quality control (QC) and release of next-generation sequencing data generated by the team.

About the Team:

We are a team of cancer biologists, geneticists and computational biologists interested in understanding how cancers develop and the ways of controlling their growth. We work on a range of malignancies but are particularly interested in melanoma and other skin cancers. The team is extremely collaborative working with labs in every corner of the globe. Our work involves both high-throughput genetics and also functional studies at scale.

About the Role:

You will work with a team of bioinformaticians to analyse next-generation sequencing data including processes such as data QC and variant calling. Since our team works with many other groups you will also be involved in exchanging/sharing data via various platforms including Globus.

About you: 

Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will analyse next-generation sequencing data. The role will involve a period of on-site training but you could then work flexibly(this can be discussed further at interview). We will consider applications to work up to 3 days (22.5 hours) per week.
