BIOMEDICAL LABORATORY ANALYST
The group of academy professor Anu Wartiovaara is looking for a biomedical laboratory analyst to work within biomedical research in a highly international research environment.
We offer an exciting and dynamic academic research environment in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Helsinki. Our internationally leading group is highly networked and utilizes state-of-the art molecular biology technologies. The science is based on discovery science with a strong translational angle. For an applicant, we expect a BSc degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science or equivalent and good verbal and written communication skills in English and in Finnish. We are looking for colleague who wishes to develop to an independent staff member, curious to learn and work as part of a team with researchers and staff members in a task where routine work is rare.
The primary activities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Scientific laboratory work: execution of experiments, data analysis and reporting
- General maintenance of the laboratory, supplies orders, and equipment care
- Handling and processing samples, working with cell cultures and disease models
- Supporting experiment design.
The salary level is formed based on previous qualifications, experience and personal performance in the position according to University of Helsinki regulations.
The position is available immediately. A contract of one year fixed-term is initially offered, with a possibility of extension. Trial period of 6 months will be applied.
