The audio visual technician is an integral part of the AV/IT Department, contributing to the delivery and development of the School's AV service portfolio. The position involves two main aspects: providing outstanding AV customer service and ensuring the installation, service, and maintenance of in-house AV systems.

Please note this is an onsite role and the AV/IT working hours are Monday to Friday, 0730-1930, with a rota pattern including early and late shifts. Some flexibility is required, occasional weekends, and out-of-hours work as overtime opportunity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate technical AV requirements for the School and its clients.
  • Support teaching, meetings and events on a daily basis.
  • Manage the Department's Service Desk platform.
  • Support the ongoing installation and maintenance project schedule.
  • Participate in the School’s Audio Visual Development Project Charter.

Hazard-specific / safety-critical duties:

This role involves working at heights and regular manual handling. The successful candidate will undergo pre-employment health screening through our Occupational Health Service.

The ideal candidate should possess a thorough understanding of audio visual technologies, encompassing areas such as projection, digital signage, public address, recording/editing (both audio and video), collaboration and live broadcast. They must demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, efficiently organising and prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines. Strong IT proficiency is essential, including expertise in both Mac and Windows operating systems (Windows 10 & Office365).
