The Research Department of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Science is a global centre for science driven breakthroughs in the restoration of pain free functional mobility and high-quality independent living. We are an interdisciplinary translational research department where clinicians, scientists, engineers, innovators and technologists work together applying research in real time to physical medicine and rehabilitation
The department is located on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) site at the Stanmore campus, with geographically separate components across the site, including the Centre for BioEngineering and Surgical Technology and the Aspire Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (Aspire CREATe), and a partnership between RNOH Research & Innovation, The Aspire Charity and UCL, which enables delivery of translational clinical research.
Aspire is a national charity that works with people with spinal cord injuries, providing practical support and advice to help them regain their independence and go on to lead a fulfilled life
We are seeking inspired and driven engineers and scientists who want to make a difference in the understanding and development of assistive and rehabilitative technologies for spinally injured people and to disability science more generally. You can come from any subject discipline bringing a vision for research and a passion for teaching.
