Associate Professor position in the Center of Molecular and Cellular Biology

The Center for Molecular and Cellular Biology of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology  (Skoltech, Moscow, Russia) invites applications for a position of Assistant Professor with a starting date of January 2022 or earlier.

Center faculty are performing cutting-edge research in molecular and cellular biology, including bacterial genetics and genomics, prokaryotic immunity and defense systems, antibiotics, translation in prokaryotes and eukaryotes, long non-coding RNAs, structural and evolutionary bioinformatics, systems biology, chromatin structure etc. The center is especially interested in expanding in the area of peptide antibiotics. Strong background and experience in this area of research should be coupled with proven record of scientific excellency and passion for teaching.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) and postdoctoral experience in the area listed above. The successful candidates will further provide evidence of high-quality scholarly output at the international level that demonstrates strong potential for independent research, and experience, or strong interest in, teaching and student supervision. All activities at Skoltech are carried out in English, therefore, candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

At Skoltech, in addition to establishing a competitive externally funded research program, the candidate is expected to teach Master and PhD level courses and supervise student research projects.
