As an Associate Lecturer of Critical and Cultural Studies you will work with the Programme team for BA Graphic Communication Design to deliver and develop learning, teaching and assessment of students across all levels. You will undertake curriculum development and research within the visual communication field and additionally contribute to the BA’s new and ongoing curricula, a new MA programme for delivery from September 2023 and research (subject / pedagogic) and international developments. 

Teaching responsibilities will include face to face and blended delivery as well as participation in tutorials, seminars and group critiques across all levels. Module leadership and level 6 critical report supervision are essential elements of the post.

The successful candidate will devise and explore subject specific content and its wider connections to established and new design histories and theories, cultures and futures, and apply them to practice and research.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Postgraduate degree (MA/MSc etc.) in a subject relevant to your stated specialism (to teach/supervise at PG level)
  • Undergraduate degree (UG) in a subject relevant to your stated specialism (to teach/supervise at UG level)

Desirable:

  • Professional/industry experience PSRB registration for teaching and assessing on PSRB accredited programs
  • Professional recognition as HEA Associate Fellow (D1) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain HEA Associate Fellow (D1) within an agreed timescale
