We have an excellent opportunity for Associate Lecturers for the following modules:

German 5 (level 6)

14 weeks x 1.5 hours= 21 hours

Thursdays, 7.30-9pm, the whole of term 2 (10 weeks) and weeks 1-4 of term 3

First class: 13th January 2022

German 3 (level 4 and 5)

9 weeks x 1.5 hours= 13.5 hours

Thursdays, 7.30-9pm, weeks 1-9 of term 3

First class: 28th April 2022

German 4 (level 4, 5 and 6)

9 weeks x 1.5 hours= 13.5 hours

Thursdays, 6.00-7.30pm, weeks 1-9 of term 3

First class: 28th April 2022

Based within the Department of Cultures and Languages, this is an opportunity for applicants qualified to teach German language at B2-C1 level.

Your main responsibility will be teaching language classes on our BA program on Thursday evenings.

You will teach as a member of a teaching team, within a predefined program of study. In this role, you will use a range of teaching techniques (including online delivery) to inspire and engage students, mark and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to students.

In addition, you will undertake relevant administrative duties to ensure key records are maintained including the submission of the appropriate student assessment records.

The ideal candidate will have native/near native knowledge of the German language and experience of teaching language classes and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach.

Further to the person specification, essential requirements for this role are:

  • A teaching qualification and a proven track record of language teaching in adult education including online delivery.

Remuneration:

Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £61.68 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
