The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 572 years. Today, we are one of the world's top 100 universities and ranked 13th  in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Impact Rankings 2023, demonstrating that we are not only one of the best universities in the United Kingdom, but one of the best universities for the world. Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.

We are now seeking an experienced policy and practice professional to lead public and policy engagement through knowledge exchange, industry collaboration and commercialisation of intellectual property in the Adam Smith Business School. You will also lead on identifying new challenge/knowledge exchange/partnership areas, support knowledge exchange activities, and designing a broader capacity building programme that could be delivered across Adam Smith Business School in future years.

In collaboration with Director of Research & Engagement and the school, the successful candidate will lead the continuing development of the School’s engagement with policy makers, organisations and associations, with a specific focus on identifying opportunities for establishing new engagements as well as strengthen current engagement (partnership) for instance with knowledge exchange partnership (KTP) applications, Innovate UK proposals, supporting the school’s research and engagement, and participating as collaborators or codevelopers in applied research and knowledge-exchange projects.

The postholder will also contribute strategically to enhancing the Adam Smith Business School’s reputation, including with school-wide rankings, and feeding back to engagement development, lead and support knowledge exchange activities, co-creating research projects with end users and beneficiaries of the research to support and enhance the school’s reputation. You will evaluate the prospects for and scope of an engagement and ecosystem development, including defining and engaging with different organisations and policy makers.

Furthermore, you will support the development and implementation of a new School Engagement Advisory Board, informed by a benchmarking of good practice among peer and aspirant business schools internationally.

This post is part time (7 hours per week) and fixed term for up to 12 months in the first instance.
