INTERNAL VACANCY 

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only. 

We are seeking applications from highly-motivated people whose background, experience and identity broadens and enhances the diversity of our existing leadership team. 

As Associate Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience you will work closely with the Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor to develop and deliver our education and student experience, driving transformational change in educational culture and performance.  

You will work collaboratively with school Directors of Education and Student Experience, as well as colleagues from other faculties and professional services, to develop policies and practice, and deliver major initiatives that will: enhance student education; promote excellence in teaching; and deliver high standards in response to key performance indicators and metrics.  You will support and manage the work of the Digital Learning Director and Deputy AFPVC for ESE. 

You must be able to demonstrate effective, inclusive leadership and have a proven track record of successful management, both strategically and operationally, of a faculty, school, department or other academic unit, as well as a good knowledge of education and student experience activities and management structures. 

With the ability to drive and develop a culture of inclusion and excellence, you will have the interpersonal skills to negotiate, influence, and motivate others and ensure the vision and values of the University are achieved.

You must be a confident presenter able to communicate in a large range of formal and informal settings. Strong analysis, judgement and problem solving will be key to success. 

With a recognised profile of significant personal achievement in leading education and/or student experience-related projects, you will have knowledge and understanding of the broad context of higher education and the national and international trends that present current and forthcoming challenges and opportunities.

This is an exciting leadership role to act as an effective ambassador for the Faculty and University and to show your commitment to enhancing the quality and reputation of our education.

The role is offered on a part time (21.75 hour) buy-out basis and for a 4-year term of office, with the possibility of renewal for a second term. The role-holder will receive a leadership payment.
