UCL is a radically different university. Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, we were the first university in England to welcome students of any religion and the first to welcome women on equal terms with men. Today UCL has over 40,000 students,13,000 staff, and 400,000 alumni, and is one of the world’s top 10 universities.

UCL Advancement is entering an exciting period of expansion ahead of the launch of our next fundraising end engagement campaign. We are a dynamic and collaborative team, responsible for engaging our alumni and supporter community, and building impactful partnerships with our donors to support UCL’s objectives.

In 2020 we closed the ‘It’s All Academic Campaign for UCL’, which raised £624m. Our next philanthropic campaign will be our biggest yet, with UCL’s bicentennial year in 2026 representing a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and build on UCL’s impact on the world.

As Associate Director of Operations you will be a member of Advancement’s Management team. You will lead an operations team responsible for delivering HR, recruitment, learning and development, employee engagement, budget oversight, and office management. You will also work closely with colleagues in other central teams (HR, Finance, Safety Services, Business Operations Services) to ensure that seamless end-to-end business processes are in place.

A priority for the role holder will be leading on team-building, employee engagement and our workplace culture. You will also sit on UCL’s Equality and Diversity Committee on behalf of Advancement.

This is a maternity cover position for an initial period of 9 months.
