We are recruiting an Associate Clinical Fellow to provide leadership of Sports Cardiology techniques and related research practice in the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences.

About the department:

Our Faculty of Science and Engineering offers a world-class research environment. With genuine trailblazing specialisms, our research has real-world impact and cultivates lasting relationships with businesses, the government, sports organisations and the general public to share our innovation and expertise. We have invested strongly in our Institute of Sport to establish ourselves as sector leaders for sports education and research. New research spaces provide a unique range of facilities including human movement laboratories, extreme environment chamber, clinical imaging and CPET for detailed investigations of athletes, patients and the general public. We work with elite sports organisations, local authorities and clinical groups to facilitate research and innovation to understand human movement across the age and health spectrum and to optimise performance for all.

We are committed to delivering world class research through multi-disciplinary collaborations. For this vacancy, we are seeking candidates with a keen research interest in cardiology and in particular sports cardiology.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

  • a medical qualification that is recognised by the General Medical Council
  • expertise in magnetic resonance imaging of the heart
  • experience of conducting other cardiac assessments (echo and ECG) in athletes and patients
  • the ability to coordinate partnerships and collaboration across a network of clinical and research settings
