Assistant Technician

The School of Life Sciences in the Faculty of Science and Engineering delivers high quality courses in Forensic Science, Environmental Health, Biomedical Science, Healthcare Science and Physiology.  

The Schools of Life Sciences and Pharmacy are supported in the delivery of their academic courses by the technical team in laboratory facilities housed in the Rosalind Franklin Building. A vacancy has arisen within the technical team for the role of Assistant Technician.

You will be expected to work in supporting a multi-disciplinary team of professionals/academics and also work with (academic and non-academic) staff at School level. You must have some experience in cleaning and glassware washing. You must have also have some familiarity with preparing and setting out laboratory equipment for teaching and research and an awareness of inventory management procedures in a busy science laboratory setting. You should have effective interpersonal skills, an ability to use computer-based systems, communicate in writing and use initiative when required. 

You will need to be helpful, competent and flexible, and be willing to work in any laboratory or classroom relative to your experience.
