We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Student Adviser within the Student Advice & Counselling Service of a leading postgraduate institution.  You will provide support in a number of areas to the School’s London-based students, by email, telephone and in one-to-one appointments.  Key areas of support will include accommodation for students, and standard student disability support.  The role will also provide administrative support to the service as well as playing a key role in the organisation of the annual International Students Welcome.

Applicants should hold a degree qualification (or equivalent, including relevant professional experience), and have experience of working in an HE setting, with an understanding of the student journey.  You should have experience of providing customer service to a high standard as well as providing administrative support, including basic budget management.  You must be able to develop good interpersonal relationships with students, showing sensitivity to difference and working within the boundaries of confidentiality.  You must be well organised and able to establish effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues.

The post is full-time on a permanent contract starting in September 2017.  Flexible working arrangements will be considered.  The starting salary range will be on the Professional Support Pathway scale grade 4, currently £28,270 - £32,158 per annum inclusive.   The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the SAUL Pension Scheme is available.
