The Department of Psychology (http://www.LN.edu.hk/psy/ ) is the latest establishment in the Faculty of Social Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team based at the Department of Psychology. The Department builds on the strengths of faculty in the field of positive occupational health psychology, psychological well-being, social psychology, and cross-cultural psychology. In line with the liberal arts tradition of the University, the Department is also strongly committed to providing high quality teaching and a supportive learning environment to students.

General Requirements

Applicants for the position should have: (i) a doctoral degree in Psychology, preferably in the areas of industrial-organisational/educational psychology, with relevant teaching experience; (ii) ability to teach a broad range of subjects, including “Learning Process”, “Educational Psychology”, “Counselling Psychology”, “Consumer Psychology”, “Diversity in the Workplace”, “Positive Psychology in the Workplace” and “Coaching and Counselling in the Workplace” ; (iii) an excellent command of English; (iv) administrative experience in curriculum development, programme promotion and quality assurance; and (v) professional membership of industrial-organisational psychology in organisations including HKPS, BPS, APA and APS is highly preferred.

Appointment

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to fringe benefits which include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance. Appointment will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of up to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
