The European Institute is a world-leading and multidisciplinary centre of excellence for research and teaching on contemporary Europe in a global context. The department offers degrees at a post-graduate level; its faculty are active researchers, and teaching is research-led.
The department is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Political Economy. The post holder will specialise in research on, and teach, the political economy of Europe and its international links, including with China. The successful candidate will contribute to the MSc Political Economy of Europe and the World programme and its associated Double Degree programmes, in particular our double degree programme with Fudan University.
The post holder will conduct and publish world-leading research and engage in high quality teaching. Candidates should have the ability to undertake research that has impact and ability to engage in knowledge exchange; show evidence of a well-defined and viable strategy for future research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications; and the ability and willingness to teach in the political economy of Europe and its international links, including with China.
Candidates will need to have a completed PhD, or PhD thesis submitted for examination, in political economy, or a related discipline, by the post start date.
